To Anyone Still Here, Greetings

Sometimes you don’t regret all of your teenage years.

I watched Sing Street and I fell back in love with the Cure. From the Cure I refound Bauhaus, Sisters, the Damned. I visited this old blog again. I still have 65 followers. I couldn’t throw out my SOM shirt. I felt something strange when I found old Goth posts or dark blogs on Tumblr. The oddest sensations in my hands after moving Dracula on my bookshelf.

Feeling black lace on my skin and remembering a different time. Accidently skipping to a Cruxshadows song while drawing a velvet lined coffin- No. It was a guitar case. Being asked my favourite animal and answering ‘Bats’ without a note of hesitation.

I’ve seen goths every now and again, and for a second or two I felt something. An old feeling. A memory. In past days I might’ve smiled at them, admiring their outfit as I paraded confidently in my own. So many lacy skirts. So many spiderweb and striped stockings. I never threw them out. Might be useful for Halloween, I told myself. I said the same for that black ballgown in my closet.

I found old cans of extra strength hairspray, back from when my biggest wish was to have hair as big as Dave Vanian’s. Or Siouxie’s. Hell, it was hard to throw out that outdated black eyeshadow. I felt like part of me was being thrown out too. Every piece of clothing, makeup, jewellery I threw out cut me a little inside. I wasn’t Goth anymore, I said. I was gonna wear brown tees and blue jeans and stop celebrating Halloween. I was too old for that. I was a cool 17-year-old. A rocker chick. Not a Goth anymore.

Once in university I gave a presentation on alternative culture. The girls next to me had clearly done some research. Emphasis on some. I hid behind the podium a little as they told the class ‘Goth started from Marilyn Manson and a lot of Goths are depressed.’ The Goth bands they mentioned included Manson, Slipknot and surprisingly, Siouxie and the Banshees. Well. 1 out of 3.

My part was on hipster culture, but I couldn’t help but interject. “Actually, Goth has nothing to do with Manson, and more notable bands include the Cure, Bauhaus and Fields of the Nephilim. And Siouxie of course.”

The professor was surprised, and asked me to continue. I hesitated. I wasn’t a Goth anymore. What gives me the right to talk about it? But hey. I couldn’t leave everyone thinking Goths were a depressed group sporting white makeup and worshipped Manson. I started talking. And everyone listened. I answered their questions, from ‘Wait, so Goths don’t worship Satan?’ to ‘Where did Goth come from?’

It was exhilarating.

At the end the professor looked at me closely. “How do you know all this?” she asked.

I swallowed. “I…used to be Goth.” Saying ‘used to’ made something ache in my chest.

“Why did you stop?” someone asked.

“I don’t know,” I replied. Was it the peer pressure from school? My parents’ apathy? My social anxiety preventing me from wearing my frilly clothes?

“You should go back,” the professor said. “It clearly was important to you.”
I swallowed again. “I guess so.”

Now I know it’s been three years. I’m almost 21, and have as much pop music as colours in my wardrobe. My blacks are plain shirts and jeans usually never worn together. But I don’t think I ever really left. I tried revisiting my ‘Rock chick’ self and it didn’t go anywhere. I didn’t feel the way I did with Goth.

Now due to me growing up and the constraints of work and social life, I don’t think I’ll ever be as flamboyant as I was when I was young. I still love my colours and my trendy Instagram styles. I watch as many dramas and rom coms as I do spooky movies. I never could quite get into strong horror.

But what if I come back? Dig out the band shirts and spiderweb stockings. Get the candelabras and dead roses out of storage and put them back in my room? Add all my old Goth tunes back onto my phone? Maybe I won’t be a Goth, per se. In fact, I definitely won’t. Not in the way I perceived Goth to be. But at least I’ll be happy. I’ll get that part of myself back.

I’ve no doubt that everyone has moved on. It’s been a long time, after all. 2013 was the last time I was here. But if anyone is still here, this is me.

The Babybat may have grown up, and like Susan Pevensie, she’s put away things from her childhood. But hey. Some things you just can’t shake. Maybe I never really left Narnia.
In the words of Cherish-past,
Farewell!

Tag / 70 Followers

Greetings!

Thank you Alice at Alice Lost & The Monster Brigade for tagging me! I love these things way too much. :)

Also here's a big thank you to all 70 followers! Thank you so much everyone, it was wonderful to go on my blog this morning and find out! :D Also it helped me feel better considering I have a bad cold atm

Rules
  • Thank the person who tagged you for this challenge and post a link to their blog.
  • Tag 5 blogs with less than 200 followers.
  • Wish them to tag more bloggers to help keep this thing going!

 5 Things You Need Everyday

1: Music. I constantly need my iPod around for tunes. I love listening to Sisters of Mercy, AC/DC, Reckless Love, Guns N' Roses, Skid Row, Poison, Motley Crue, Emilie Autumn and all that good stuff. Though you probably didn't need to know all the bands oops.

2: The Internet. I go mildly insane if I don't have at least a few hours on the internet. I use my iPod, iPad or computer, depending on which has the fastest wifi. :P I mainly go on facebook, blogger, tumblr, and I play an online game called Runescape which I'm addicted to.

3: Tea. If I don't have a cup of tea first thing in the morning, I get 900% angrier and 200% uglier. I find that coffee puts me to sleep o.0 but maybe that has to do with my coffee related allergies?

4: Food. Another thing I get angry about when I don't have it. Either an afternoon/morning snack or a good meal, I really need it. Unfortunately for me the doctor said I was allergic to gluten...ruling out a lot of my favorite foods, but because I'm hardcore I still have the occasional pastry.

5: A good book. Even though the internet is a major distraction, my favorite past time is to sit somewhere with one of my favorite books. I like to read a little every night, or after school.

5 Books You Would Recommend (Book Series oops)

1: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Officially my favorite series of all time, basically anything Tolkien wrote is amazing.

2: The Infernal Devices Series - Another of my favorites.

3: The Mortal Instruments Series - By the same author of TID. ^

4: Artemis Fowl - May be slightly childish but it's one of my favorite series too.

5: Percy Jackson - Another book series for younger people, but still AMAZING.

5 Materialistic Wishes For Christmas Presents

1: Band Merch. Gimme. I feel the need to buy truckloads of band shirts atm.

2: Candles. Yes although I have so many candles there's no room for any more, I still feel the need to add to my collection.

3: Jewelry. I'm after leather bracelets, silver rings, and coffin related stuff.

4: An 'Every day is Halloween' shirt if I can find one and LotR shirts. (Gollum wins ok)

5: More books. Particularly Clockwork Princess, the latest in the TID series.

5 Places You Wish To Visit

1: Northern Europe. I'd like a brief visit to see Finland, Norway, even Iceland. They're just really amazing places.

2: Ireland. Home of all the best mythology and folklore. I need to be there.

3: Britain. I'd like to go and attend Whitby Gothic Weekend.

4: Canada. Just because. :)

5: Just Europe in general, I want to just travel through all the countries. :D

5 Adjectives That Describe You

 1: Funny

2: Creative

3: Foolish

4: Weird

5: Entertaining

5 Things You'd Say to People About Life

1: Whatever you've been putting off, do it now! Don't wait for the 'perfect time' or when you think you'll feel better. Whatever you need or want to do, get it done!

2: Just because you felt you got it wrong once, don't give up. Keep trying until you improve and succeed.

3: Walk away from conflicts. If you walk away, the other person's fire will go out and you won't be affected by them.

4: Don't judge people. You can't read their minds, you don't know what they could be going through or who they really are. Treat everyone as you'd want to be treated.

5: Learn to say NO. Just because that person's a friend and you want them to like you, don't bend over backwards to cater to them. Learn to say NO, and people will see that you have boundaries.

Tag, you're it! (I think some of these people already got tagged but wtv)

1: Elven Siirie

2: Xanthy

3: Spooky University

4: Dani

5: Petticoats and Saddle Soap

Okay that's it then!

Farewell!

Hiatus Activities

Greetings!

I was really surprised and happy at the response my last post got. I expected everyone to have moved on, but I found out through all the lovely comments that a lot of people had missed me and several had been checking to see if I had posted! *Gives stacks of hugs to everyone <3*

Since I don't have stacks of homework atm (Just did my first exams last week *ugh*) I wrote this post. I figured that perhaps some of you would like to see what I've been up to over the last 6 months while this blog's been on hiatus. (Life update post yay)

----

As I mentioned in the last post, school has been a huge adjustment and a lot of work, but the friends I've made have more than made up for any difficulties. It's just been awesome having people to hang out with, and my new best friend, Sarah, is the most amazing person ever and we've had such a great time. What's the best thing about this is that these friends of mine accept me for who I am and how I choose to look.

In a past post I talked about how I had a friend named Alisha, and how her and her mom gave me weird looks and made me feel so uncomfortable about dressing Goth that I got super upset. I'm thankful for the support you bloggers all gave me, several people told me that sometime I would find real friends that would appreciate me for who I was - and it seems like that's happened. :) I also was going through a very bad bout of depression last year about having no irl friends and not feeling accepted, I'm doing a lot better now. Regarding Alisha, I've decided to cut ties with her, I saw her recently and she still hasn't accepted me even though I've changed my look quite a bit.

A valuable thing to learn is that if someone doesn't appreciate you for who you are, or if they just make you feel inferior, let them go! It took me so long to get that but now that I have, everything has been so much better.

 -----

Anyhow. Now for some photos to show what I've been up to! :)

Makeup experiments

Is this a good look? :P

Regarding fashion, this year I found a lovely store near me called 'Into Camelot' (Thanks Dani for the reference) It sells medieval and Gothy fashion, and I honestly felt like I'd walked into paradise when I went there.

I bought two dresses, one black medieval and one neo-victorianish one. Also I bought a pair of purple and black fingerless gloves. (Will post pictures of these things when I can)

As for everyday fashion, I've moved on from trying to 'Goth up' all the time. Even though my school lets you wear whatever you want I don't dress Goth very often. My style at the moment is veering towards a 'Rock Chick' kind of look. (Is that what you call it idk)

I guess this fashion change has been inspired by my recent music change from Gothic rock to 80s glam rock and metal. I still love Sisters of Mercy and such, but stuff like Poison (Which Sarah got me into :), Skid Row, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, etc, has been my music lately.

Instead of lace, skirts, Victorian inspired hairstyles and whatnot, I feel more like dressing in band shirts, teased hair and black jeans or something. (Massive change much? :P)

----

Well, that's the end of this post. Here's a few more photos to end with.

My 17th Birthday

My ever growing poster collection

I hope that this was a decent post to begin with, and I hope that there'll be better quality posts in the future. *Shifts*

For future posts I have a few ideas like life updates (Like my trip to the Perth Medieval Festival and Ice-Skating) for the sake of it, and I'll get more of Mordor's Kitchen up since I promised I'd continue that.

As for other things, I love getting questions or ideas for posts, so if anyone has any ideas or things they'd like me to post about, please comment and tell me - I'll be sure to work on it as soon as I have any free time.

Also I've just made a poll regarding what you, my lovely followers, would like me to post. If you'd like to vote for your preferred option, I'd really appreciate it. If there's something you'd like that I haven't included in the poll, please tell me in a comment! :)

 Regarding this post:

What about all of you? What fashion and music changes have you made recently that were not 'strictly Goth'? What have you been up to over the past 6 months? Tell me in the comments!

Update on Life and Blog

Greetings!

Not sure if anyone reads this blog anymore since I've been gone since February, I apologize.

I thought that I would be back posting here, but school has proved to be EXTREMELY time consuming! I really am sorry to people who liked to read this blog, I had expectations of regular posting this year, but I just haven't had the time to come back to this blog.

I won't make any promises as to 'regular' posts in the future, but it's something I would like to do if I have the time.

Anyways.

-----

Just a little update on my life/the life of this blog:

In my last February post I mentioned that school orientation day went well and that I'd made 2 new friends. Well now I have a group of 5 friends that I'm very happy with - 3 of them are quite Goth inclined. :)

While the assignments have been crazy, and as I mentioned, time consuming - I think I'm doing well despite my upbringing as a homeschooler.

Regarding this blog, I wondered a few times where it was going. This year I've kind of drifted in and out of dressing 'Strictly goth' some days its all out with band shirts, makeup and stripy tights, and others it's ripped jeans and a black tee shirt. I guess I'm just going between styles at the moment.

I still call myself a goth, but I'm not trying to be 100% goth like I was before. I'm realizing now that listening to non goth music and wearing non gothtastic clothes is perfectly ok. :)

I really hope I'll have the time and inspiration to make a post or 2 on here, I feel bad for abandoning my followers and the online friends I made on here. So to you all, super sorry again.

-----

If anyone is still reading this blog, please say hi and tell me you're there - the least I'm gonna do is go back to reading everyone's blog posts and commenting, etc. I know it's been almost 6 months, so if you see this, thank you for sticking around! *hugs*

Also if anyone has any questions or ideas for blog posts, I'm on a serious writer's block. If I had a few ideas about future posts I could schedule time into to write them for you.

-----

Thanks to all that may read (and hopefully comment so I can see that you're there!) this post.

Farewell!

Long time absense/Lots of changes

Greetings!

I haven't posted in over 2 months, and for that....Sorry. Really. I kind of left all online interaction with everyone, even my tumblr suffered. :( (But I should be back now :))

To start out with, half the reason I'm back on this blog is thanks to the lovely Dani Deathbiscuit. She wrote to me and asked why I'd been gone, and that made me realize that some of my followers/internet friends may actually be wondering what's going on with me. :)

Also, despite my new busy life, I don't want to forget about the blogging community. :)

------

Update time: I'm no longer a homeschooler. Finally, at 16 years old I've just had my first day at high school. :D

It was orientation day today,  and I think I surprised myself by doing fairly well. I consider myself an introvert, someone who gets nervous in crowds and even in social interaction, and so going to a school with 400 people sounded a bit daunting for me.

The student orientation was amazing though. The principal had a brief speech, then we had several other teachers come up and talk - They all seem to be really funny and easy going, and I think I'll have fun working with them.

And the best part about this school? It's an 'Alternative' school which means no dress code/uniforms, as such I saw several highly alternative looking people around, one of whom I share 2 classes with. In English I had to interview her, her name's Eva, and we might just become friends. :DD

Also I met another girl named Montanna, she wants to be Goth but her mom won't even let her wear black! I tried to advise her on wearing subtle jewelry and slightly darker colors like purple and red. Do you guys have any suggestions for her? Her mom seems to be really strict, won't let Montanna listen to metal/alt/rock or any music that's 'strange' and she buys all of her clothes.

She's happy to have found me though. She said there weren't many Goths, Emos or Punks in the school, but I think she just has to look a little harder. :) After all, some like me were not so showy - I was rather plainly dressed in grey jeans and a black shirt. (Not so 'Gawth' lol)

Anyhow. I know a lot of you have had strict parents or have known strict people, so if you have any advice, I'd appreciate some tips for Montanna.

As for everything else, with all 5 classes I had to attend I was late for 3 of them, even though I asked for directions several times, I still got very very lost. :(

But for maths the teacher is a boss, seriously. I hate maths but I think I'll like being in his class. He's full of good jokes and makes everything very easy to understand. And seriously, (forgive me for rambling xD) when the teacher asked if everyone knew each others names, when he pointed to me, half the class knew who I was...This may sound strange to you, but just being noticed by people is pretty awesome!

In the history class I also met another guy, though stupidly I forgot his name. He's super into psychology, and as that's an interest of mine as well, we ended up talking for about half an hour while wandering around the campus.

Well, I guess that's my summary! I'm just really over the moon atm, as I never realised I could actually go to high school and make friends so easily! :) - And all 3 of us share 3 classes, so it's not like I'm on my own, (And both Montanna and the other guy don't like crowds much, we're all more of the not so social type, so that fits well with me!) and I found out my 'former' good friend is in my biology class. Ah well. Perhaps we'll get on good terms again.

---

Anyhow. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed my 'first day of school' post, and I'll try to get to all of your blogs and read your posts. (And comment)

-Sorry people I follow: You all have a tonne of posts and I haven't gotten to any of them, that'll be fixed shortly! :)

Farewell!

Halloween 2012 - Costuming and Carving

Greetings!

Here is the long awaited (Sorry for posting this late) post on Halloween. :)

I didn't end up doing much, except the usual of reading folklore/carving/eating candy...*Shifts*

Although I wasn't able to Trick or Treat, I did dress up, here are the photos!

(Does this count as an outfit post? xD)

Costume: Witch. (Disney, fantasy, suchlike. I decided to be cliche, as I had never had a Witch outfit before.)

Me and my weird posing skills. :)

See the nails? xD. They were fun but hard to grasp stuff with. I pity anyone who actually has nails like these. :D

Bat wings? Plus smashing broom.

I've been waiting awhile to show you these lovely stripy socks! Found them in an Op shop (In an area full of scene kids) for only $1.

My potion bottles. I was supposed to do a tutorial on that...

My Bat lamp, which I showed you last post.

:)

Half my potion collection, with bonus candles.

Mom's decorative skills

I GOT AN AMERICAN PUMPKIN IN COLES! Cost me $20 but it was so orange and large!

Below the pumpkin are my 4 carved turnips. :D
Sorry the shots are so bad! I spent an hour on my makeup, making myself really old and Witchy, but the stupid camera didn't pick it up. :(

------

And just for an added bonus, here is a quick look at Halloween LAST year. xD

Back when I watermarked my pictures...Ehee...Here's me as 'Mrs Lovett/Lydia Deetz.' Note: At that time, I hadn't actually seen Sweeney Todd, so I had no idea what I was doing.

Back when I had a better camera....*Sob* Although smaller, those pumpkins were grown out of our garden, and it was my first time carving stuff. :)
Well that's all for this post!

See you all in another post (whenever I decided to take a break from reading truckloads of books/gaming/watching movies)

Note: New favorite movie I just watched: Stardust. Completely awesome, I intend to find the book and read it. :)

New favorite books: The Mortal Instruments. Absolutely amazing book series, and The Infernal Devices are EPIC BEYOND MEASURE as well. :P

Hmm, I might as well add Artemis Fowl to that list. xD

Well, I'll stop rambling now and leave you in peace.

Farewell!

PS: Go check out AsylumAlice and OddGhoulOut's epic Halloween costumes, they are awesome. :D

Halloween Shop Finds

Greetings!

I was supposed to post this a week ago, but due to Halloween preparations, I was late. *Sorry*

Anyhow, here is a photo post of Halloween items I found in a little shop. Although I'd thought that Australia wasn't that festive, I was pleasantly surprised to find all of these:

Glow in the dark spiderwebs! Can be joined like this, or used as 4 individual corner pieces. I intend to put them in the corners of my room. :)

A black plastic rose, with just a hint of red at the top.

Cauldrons! All pretty tiny, but they're quite cute. <3 The large one says 'Witches' Brew'

These are amazing! In a dark room they have a faint glow when the little lamps are on. Plus PURPLE AND BATS! *squee*

Bad picture sorry. These are 10 Jack o' Lantern lights, that glow orange at night.

Same as the pumpkins, except these are ghost lanterns. :)

Kind of a weird picture, but this stuff is called 'Freaky Fabric' :D I plan to drape it over my wardrobe.

A cheap Witch hat. xD

Well, those are all my finds. (Which shall be decorating my room for the whole year and beyond) Next post should be Halloween 2012, with my costume, and carving skills. :P

Farewell!

Ps: What Halloween decorations did you find, dear followers?

Personal: Long Overdue Post

Greetings!

I'm sorry to have not been very active as a blogger lately, October has been a busy month! However, during this time I made choc chip cookies and hot cocoa recipes, so Mordor's Kitchen will soon be updated.

And since Halloween is rolling around I'll probably get around to posting the 'Potion bottle tutorial'...Hopefully.

I'm not sure how much further Mordor's kitchen will go right now, as though nice warm drinks and things are wonderful for all of you bloggers entering (Autumn, is it?) we Australians are nearly in summer, and I fear it will be hot.

----

Okay, well I'll stop rambling and get on with the updates.

For Bat Fit I've been kind of slack. *Shifts* I haven't given much heed to recent assignments as of late, and although I'm been trying to get to the gym and exercise, I could probably do a lot better.

But I have been going on the computer less, replacing it for some nice reading outside. I let my rabbits run around and keep an eye on them while sitting with my parasol. :)

One thing I am annoyed about though, is I'm having trouble sleeping at night, because even though I ate an enormous dinner, a few hours later I'm extremely hungry. This is forcing me to eat bread at night, which previously made me gain a lot of weight...I tried fruit and I just got nausea. :(

Do you have any suggestions, fellow Bat Fitters, on how to beat the 'crazy midnight snack' cravings?

---

The other main thing that's been keeping me busy is that I GOT A JOB!

Before I had a heavy mindset that 'I wouldn't work until I'd finished school' but last month I finally decided to start looking for work.

Only a week later, my sister came over and mom told her about my plans, she said that the restaurant where she works is looking for people, that she'd check in for me.

A week after that she confirmed that I'd got the job!

They called me in on a Saturday, I was so nervous about it that I almost didn't make it out the door, but once I got there, a lovely Italian restaurant downtown, I got shown around the place and started to like it more.

The manager then taught me my job: Polishing silverware. Basically what I have to do is recieve a load of cutlery from the dishwashers, and take a dishcloth and dip the cutlery in steaming vinegar water, rub the cutlery with the cloth, then put it into a container.

After that I deliver it to the wait staff, who add it to the plates they're bringing to tables.

It's really easy, and I've only got 3 shifts a week - Fri, Sat, Sun nights for 3 hours.

And to my eternal delight, I don't have to wear a uniform, JUST ALL BLACK. :)

---

Another thing I'm fond of about this restaurant is that even though there's a dress code for the wait staff, several of them have visible tattoos and piercings/dyed hair - Looking quite alternative - and everyone's totally fine with it.

So it was nice for me, as though I dress very plainly at work, and I don't have any tattoos/dyed hair/piercings, it's nice to know I can be Goth and not have to worry about 'not scaring people' or whatever.

 ---

Speaking of which, as for 'outfit posts' I haven't really done well these last few months. I still want to be Goth, it's just I don't have the energy to pick out nice outfits these days. (I have succumbed to the dreaded tracksuit like appearance :( )

And since summer is nearly upon us I think I'll have to wait before I can wear any 'finery' again. I'll try to make an outfit before Halloween, but I think this blog will be void of much outfit stuff at least for a bit longer, sorry.

Once I get work money, I'm planning on buying more band shirts and gothtastic practical clothing, so I can get away with wearing tee shirt and jeans, just that they're nice and spooky. :)

---

Okay, that's about all for now.

I hope to see you all soon,

Farewell!

Lovely Blogger Award

Greetings!

I got tagged for another blog thing, this time it's 'The Lovely Blogger Award' from Laura at Roses and Vellum.

Here goes:

7 Random Things About Me:

1: I like comic book/cartoon style art much more than sketching.

2: I'm a TV/Book/Movie geek, particularly fantasy/adventure.

3: On the topic of books, when I go to the library, you won't see me come out unless I have over 5 thick books. And all of those I will read as quick as possible.

4: The only computer game I play currently is Runescape. (Obsession time again)

5: I don't like brand name clothing, and I don't collect clothes, either. All the things I have come from the Op shops or Ebay. (So sorry about no outfit posts, guys. I only have 2 drawers worth of clothes, and only one of them has 'Gothtastic/Outfit worthy' clothing...And you've seen most of the outfits I've cooked up.)

6: I am proud to call myself a member of the grammar and etiquette police.

7: I was born in Australia, but I have my dad's American accent.

-----

Well, that's it.

Hopefully I'll be back with that Potion bottle thing. I just need to get on to it.

Farewell!

The Obituary Tag

Greetings!

I've been tagged by the lovely OddGhoulOut for the Obituary tag challenge.

A quick warning though, before I begin:

I get nervous/ill sometimes when I see or read anything to do with 'death'....(Probably one of the reasons I don't like skulls...) and yeah, I lose Goth points. Bleh.

So my version of this will be ridiculously lighthearted...If you wanted to read something more 'morbid or dark' I suggest you check out the other people's tags. (But you really don't need a reason. They're just that fabulous. :D)

Anyhow. On to the challenge.

So, Here's the rules:
  1. Link back to whoever tagged you.
  2. Put these rules in your tag.
  3. Write an obituary about yourself (it can be as funny or as serious as you like).
  4. Write about a paragraph or two (or more if necessary) in length.
  5. You may tag up to 10 people, and be sure to link to them.
  6. Have fun, because creative writing is one of the greatest joys in life!

My Obituary:

Cherish, who at her time of passing was aged 16, has unfortunately passed away on the 1st of September, 2012. She was born on the Autumn day of April 29th, 1996, and she will be missed.

During her life, she was known to be sarcastic, and prone to make most hideous jokes, but at the same time really didn't mean any harm by them, (she would've wanted you to know that) and adored rabbits immensely. As well as this, she was fond of writing and cartoon style art, and wished forever to be more spooky.

It is unknown how she died, but evidence suggests either heart failure or an overdose of what she described as 'Loki-feels.' Reports also show she had an enormous crush on the actor Tom Hiddleston, and upon viewing one too many photos of him she may have exploded.

Do join us for the funeral this Monday at 2 pm. There will be Karaoke, free WiFi, and an abundance of snack foods. (Don't ask how there will be free WiFi at a cemetery. Just believe it.)

Cherish was fond of many genres of music, but the song she wished to be played during the ceremony was 'I like big butts and I cannot Lie.'

It is also advised during the service to bring a wooden stake with you, and necklaces of garlic will be handed out at the grave site. You can never be too careful.

Tags:

Everyone I wanted to tag has already been tagged. :( But I will look forward to reading your posts. :)

----

Well there you have it. That was more foolish than I originally expected....But hey, it's all good.

I guess I'll see you darlings later, with that post on 'Potion bottle crafting' :D

Farewell!

Ps: I lost a follower....*Sobs into the floor* now I only have 63. :(

Would anymore of you lovely readers bring the count back to 64...Or make my spooky heart glad by getting me to 70 followers by Halloween?

And to all those that stuck around: You are the best people in the world and I wish you the best of Septembers, and that you may find Halloween goodies everywhere. :P

Dead Chef Recipes: Raspberry Muffins

Greetings!

I've been on a lull at the moment with posting, reasons being that I haven't been sure what to post about, and also I've been busy with cooking and learning to sew! Despite numerous errors, the pair of practice bloomers is nearly complete! *Feels proud*

And also guys, big Bat Fit accomplishment: I JOINED THE GYM!

I got my assessment (First blood pressure check as well :D) and my first real workout was today, gah, quite tiring, haha. :)

Tomorrow I have my first yoga class, and double Zumba dance, that's two dance classes in a row....I am slightly apprehensive, but I'm sure I'll make it.

Also another thing that's kept me busy today (I was going to write this post this morning!) was that the Avengers gag reel/deleted scenes came out today, and the whole fanbase on tumblr is in an uproar.

Me, being a massive Avengers fangirl was caught up posting/squealing nearly all day. *Shifts* I just stopped long enough now to write this post!

Any fellow Thor/Avenger fans here? xD

----

Anyhow. I'll stop rambling now and get on with the post. :D

A dear anonymous commenter came along and wrote that they would like a recipe for my 'Raspberry Muffins' I posted awhile back about. (Here)

Fortunately, I've improved in baking since then, and so I was able to adjust the recipe so the muffins got bigger and tasted better. (More cake like, I guess)

Here it is:

----

Ingredients: 1 and 1/2 cups plain flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/8 tsp salt, 1 and 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 3/4 cup frozen or fresh berries.

Note: With the berries, you can use raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, anything really! Another thing that worked for me was stewed apple. :) And if you don't add the cinnamon, then these would be fit for chocolate chips or melts, for choc-chip muffins!

----

What to do:

1: Sift the 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, flour, soda and salt in a bowl. Then mix and set aside.

2: In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, oil, and lemon juice until smooth.

3: In a tiny bowl, mix the 1 and 1/2 sugar with the cinnamon.

4: Use a spatula and scrape milk mixture into the flour mix, stirring to form a stiff batter. Then stir in your berries, but do not over mix.

5: Use a greased table spoon to pour the batter into the tins to full extent. (Or halfway at least) Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of each muffin.

6: Turn on the oven to about 180 degrees Celsius. Then grease and flour muffin/cupcake tins.

7: Bake about 20 minutes, or until well risen and golden. Cool slightly, then remove on to wire racks.

Then preferably eat them while they're warm. :D

----

Notes: I used a cupcake tray here, and the first time I made these, I made 22, but they weren't well risen. To get them large enough, you have to fill the trays completely. In this respect, it may be wise to double the recipe to get more than 10. Or you can have them 'cookie' like, they still taste great!

And with the berries and over mixing, if you over mix the batter will turn green from the berry juice. However, this can prove useful for making zombie green muffins. xD

Hmm. Well that's it! Pretty simple, and very tasty!

But still, the title of this post is 'Dead Chef Recipes' as that's the name I thought up for my notebook/cookbook.

And yeah...It's cool, but as I was thinking of doing more recipe posts (With step by step pictures) I was thinking of a better name.

How about:

Coffin Cookery

Bat Baking

Mordor's Kitchen

Doomsday Delights

Or something like that. Cliched, I know, but I just love the sound of some of those. xD

Speaking of which, here is a photo of the actual paper recipe, from my notebook.

The left page is my scribblings, the right is the recipe, as well as one for choc-chip cookies. Yes, I see the silly red stains. I was in a 'make fake blood everywhere' stage at the time.

Also if you have any spooky/cliched titles for cooking posts, do submit! Your ones might be better than mine, haha.

And as for the next recipe post, should I post about a chocolate cake, choc-chip cookies, hot cocoa drink, or suchlike? (Yes, I'm in a chocolatey mood. I NEED CHOCOLATE ABOUT NOW.)

Anyways.

Farewell!

Ps: Also coming up is a art and craft post, where I'll show you how to make simple potion bottles/jars with spooky/Halloweenish themes.

See you soon, and if you have any requests, message me, and I'll do my very best to complete them!
