 5 Things You Need Everyday

 1: Music. I constantly need my iPod around for tunes. I love listening to Sisters of Mercy, AC/DC, Reckless Love, Guns N' Roses, Skid Row, Poison, Motley Crue, Emilie Autumn and all that good stuff. Though you probably didn't need to know all the bands oops. 


 2: The Internet. I go mildly insane if I don't have at least a few hours on the internet. I use my iPod, iPad or computer, depending on which has the fastest wifi. :P I mainly go on facebook, blogger, tumblr, and I play an online game called Runescape which I'm addicted to.

 3: Tea. If I don't have a cup of tea first thing in the morning, I get 900% angrier and 200% uglier. I find that coffee puts me to sleep o.0 but maybe that has to do with my coffee related allergies?

4: Food. Another thing I get angry about when I don't have it. Either an afternoon/morning snack or a good meal, I really need it. Unfortunately for me the doctor said I was allergic to gluten...ruling out a lot of my favorite foods, but because I'm hardcore I still have the occasional pastry.

5: A good book. Even though the internet is a major distraction, my favorite past time is to sit somewhere with one of my favorite books. I like to read a little every night, or after school.

 5 Books You Would Recommend (Book Series oops)

 1: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Officially my favorite series of all time, basically anything Tolkien wrote is amazing.

2: The Infernal Devices Series - Another of my favorites.

3: The Mortal Instruments Series - By the same author of TID. ^

4: Artemis Fowl - May be slightly childish but it's one of my favorite series too.

5: Percy Jackson - Another book series for younger people, but still AMAZING.


5 Materialistic Wishes For Christmas Presents

 1: Band Merch. Gimme. I feel the need to buy truckloads of band shirts atm.

2: Candles. Yes although I have so many candles there's no room for any more, I still feel the need to add to my collection.

3: Jewelry. I'm after leather bracelets, silver rings, and coffin related stuff.

4: An 'Every day is Halloween' shirt if I can find one and LotR shirts. (Gollum wins ok)

 5: More books. Particularly Clockwork Princess, the latest in the TID series.

Hiatus Activities

Greetings!

I was really surprised and happy at the response my last post got. I expected everyone to have moved on, but I found out through all the lovely comments that a lot of people had missed me and several had been checking to see if I had posted! *Gives stacks of hugs to everyone <3*

Since I don't have stacks of homework atm (Just did my first exams last week *ugh*) I wrote this post. I figured that perhaps some of you would like to see what I've been up to over the last 6 months while this blog's been on hiatus. (Life update post yay)

As I mentioned in the last post, school has been a huge adjustment and a lot of work, but the friends I've made have more than made up for any difficulties. It's just been awesome having people to hang out with, and my new best friend, Sarah, is the most amazing person ever and we've had such a great time. What's the best thing about this is that these friends of mine accept me for who I am and how I choose to look.

In a past post I talked about how I had a friend named Alisha, and how her and her mom gave me weird looks and made me feel so uncomfortable about dressing Goth that I got super upset. I'm thankful for the support you bloggers all gave me, several people told me that sometime I would find real friends that would appreciate me for who I was - and it seems like that's happened. :) I also was going through a very bad bout of depression last year about having no irl friends and not feeling accepted, I'm doing a lot better now. Regarding Alisha, I've decided to cut ties with her, I saw her recently and she still hasn't accepted me even though I've changed my look quite a bit.

A valuable thing to learn is that if someone doesn't appreciate you for who you are, or if they just make you feel inferior, let them go! It took me so long to get that but now that I have, everything has been so much better.

 Regarding fashion, this year I found a lovely store near me called 'Into Camelot' (Thanks Dani for the reference) It sells medieval and Gothy fashion, and I honestly felt like I'd walked into paradise when I went there.

I bought two dresses, one black medieval and one neo-victorianish one. Also I bought a pair of purple and black fingerless gloves. (Will post pictures of these things when I can)

As for everyday fashion, I've moved on from trying to 'Goth up' all the time. Even though my school lets you wear whatever you want I don't dress Goth very often. My style at the moment is veering towards a 'Rock Chick' kind of look. (Is that what you call it idk)

I guess this fashion change has been inspired by my recent music change from Gothic rock to 80s glam rock and metal. I still love Sisters of Mercy and such, but stuff like Poison (Which Sarah got me into :), Skid Row, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, etc, has been my music lately.

Instead of lace, skirts, Victorian inspired hairstyles and whatnot, I feel more like dressing in band shirts, teased hair and black jeans or something. (Massive change much? :P)

I hope that this was a decent post to begin with, and I hope that there'll be better quality posts in the future. *Shifts*

 For future posts I have a few ideas like life updates (Like my trip to the Perth Medieval Festival and Ice-Skating) for the sake of it, and I'll get more of Mordor's Kitchen up since I promised I'd continue that.

As for other things, I love getting questions or ideas for posts, so if anyone has any ideas or things they'd like me to post about, please comment and tell me - I'll be sure to work on it as soon as I have any free time.

Update on Life and Blog

Greetings!

Not sure if anyone reads this blog anymore since I've been gone since February, I apologize.

I thought that I would be back posting here, but school has proved to be EXTREMELY time consuming! I really am sorry to people who liked to read this blog, I had expectations of regular posting this year, but I just haven't had the time to come back to this blog.

I won't make any promises as to 'regular' posts in the future, but it's something I would like to do if I have the time.

Anyways.

Just a little update on my life/the life of this blog:

In my last February post I mentioned that school orientation day went well and that I'd made 2 new friends. Well now I have a group of 5 friends that I'm very happy with - 3 of them are quite Goth inclined. :)

While the assignments have been crazy, and as I mentioned, time consuming - I think I'm doing well despite my upbringing as a homeschooler.

Regarding this blog, I wondered a few times where it was going. This year I've kind of drifted in and out of dressing 'Strictly goth' some days its all out with band shirts, makeup and stripy tights, and others it's ripped jeans and a black tee shirt. I guess I'm just going between styles at the moment.

I still call myself a goth, but I'm not trying to be 100% goth like I was before. I'm realizing now that listening to non goth music and wearing non gothtastic clothes is perfectly ok. :)

I really hope I'll have the time and inspiration to make a post or 2 on here, I feel bad for abandoning my followers and the online friends I made on here. So to you all, super sorry again.

Long time absense/Lots of changes

Greetings!

I haven't posted in over 2 months, and for that....Sorry. Really. I kind of left all online interaction with everyone, even my tumblr suffered. :( (But I should be back now :))

To start out with, half the reason I'm back on this blog is thanks to the lovely Dani Deathbiscuit. She wrote to me and asked why I'd been gone, and that made me realize that some of my followers/internet friends may actually be wondering what's going on with me. :)

Also, despite my new busy life, I don't want to forget about the blogging community. :)

Update time: I'm no longer a homeschooler. Finally, at 16 years old I've just had my first day at high school. :D

It was orientation day today,  and I think I surprised myself by doing fairly well. I consider myself an introvert, someone who gets nervous in crowds and even in social interaction, and so going to a school with 400 people sounded a bit daunting for me.

The student orientation was amazing though. The principal had a brief speech, then we had several other teachers come up and talk - They all seem to be really funny and easy going, and I think I'll have fun working with them.

And the best part about this school? It's an 'Alternative' school which means no dress code/uniforms, as such I saw several highly alternative looking people around, one of whom I share 2 classes with. In English I had to interview her, her name's Eva, and we might just become friends. :DD

Also I met another girl named Montanna, she wants to be Goth but her mom won't even let her wear black! I tried to advise her on wearing subtle jewelry and slightly darker colors like purple and red. Do you guys have any suggestions for her? Her mom seems to be really strict, won't let Montanna listen to metal/alt/rock or any music that's 'strange' and she buys all of her clothes.

She's happy to have found me though. She said there weren't many Goths, Emos or Punks in the school, but I think she just has to look a little harder. :) After all, some like me were not so showy - I was rather plainly dressed in grey jeans and a black shirt. (Not so 'Gawth' lol)

Anyhow. I know a lot of you have had strict parents or have known strict people, so if you have any advice, I'd appreciate some tips for Montanna.

As for everything else, with all 5 classes I had to attend I was late for 3 of them, even though I asked for directions several times, I still got very very lost. :(

But for maths the teacher is a boss, seriously. I hate maths but I think I'll like being in his class. He's full of good jokes and makes everything very easy to understand. And seriously, (forgive me for rambling xD) when the teacher asked if everyone knew each others names, when he pointed to me, half the class knew who I was...This may sound strange to you, but just being noticed by people is pretty awesome!

In the history class I also met another guy, though stupidly I forgot his name. He's super into psychology, and as that's an interest of mine as well, we ended up talking for about half an hour while wandering around the campus.

Well, I guess that's my summary! I'm just really over the moon atm, as I never realised I could actually go to high school and make friends so easily! :) - And all 3 of us share 3 classes, so it's not like I'm on my own, (And both Montanna and the other guy don't like crowds much, we're all more of the not so social type, so that fits well with me!) and I found out my 'former' good friend is in my biology class. Ah well. Perhaps we'll get on good terms again.

Halloween 2012 - Costuming and Carving

Here is the long awaited (Sorry for posting this late) post on Halloween. :)

 I didn't end up doing much, except the usual of reading folklore/carving/eating candy...*Shifts*

Although I wasn't able to Trick or Treat, I did dress up, here are the photos!

Costume: Witch. (Disney, fantasy, suchlike. I decided to be cliche, as I had never had a Witch outfit before.)

Back when I had a better camera....*Sob* Although smaller, those pumpkins were grown out of our garden, and it was my first time carving stuff. :)

Halloween Shop Finds

I was supposed to post this a week ago, but due to Halloween preparations, I was late. *Sorry*

 Anyhow, here is a photo post of Halloween items I found in a little shop. Although I'd thought that Australia wasn't that festive, I was pleasantly surprised to find all of these:

Glow in the dark spiderwebs! Can be joined like this, or used as 4 individual corner pieces. I intend to put them in the corners of my room. :)

A black plastic rose, with just a hint of red at the top.

Cauldrons! All pretty tiny, but they're quite cute. <3 The large one says 'Witches' Brew'

These are amazing! In a dark room they have a faint glow when the little lamps are on. Plus PURPLE AND BATS! *squee*

Bad picture sorry. These are 10 Jack o' Lantern lights, that glow orange at night.

Same as the pumpkins, except these are ghost lanterns. :)

Kind of a weird picture, but this stuff is called 'Freaky Fabric' :D I plan to drape it over my wardrobe.

Well, those are all my finds. (Which shall be decorating my room for the whole year and beyond) Next post should be Halloween 2012, with my costume, and carving skills. :P

Personal: Long Overdue Post

Greetings!

I'm sorry to have not been very active as a blogger lately, October has been a busy month! However, during this time I made choc chip cookies and hot cocoa recipes, so Mordor's Kitchen will soon be updated.

And since Halloween is rolling around I'll probably get around to posting the 'Potion bottle tutorial'...Hopefully.

I'm not sure how much further Mordor's kitchen will go right now, as though nice warm drinks and things are wonderful for all of you bloggers entering (Autumn, is it?) we Australians are nearly in summer, and I fear it will be hot.

Okay, well I'll stop rambling and get on with the updates.

For Bat Fit I've been kind of slack. *Shifts* I haven't given much heed to recent assignments as of late, and although I'm been trying to get to the gym and exercise, I could probably do a lot better.

But I have been going on the computer less, replacing it for some nice reading outside. I let my rabbits run around and keep an eye on them while sitting with my parasol. :)

One thing I am annoyed about though, is I'm having trouble sleeping at night, because even though I ate an enormous dinner, a few hours later I'm extremely hungry. This is forcing me to eat bread at night, which previously made me gain a lot of weight...I tried fruit and I just got nausea. :(

Do you have any suggestions, fellow Bat Fitters, on how to beat the 'crazy midnight snack' cravings?

The other main thing that's been keeping me busy is that I GOT A JOB!

Before I had a heavy mindset that 'I wouldn't work until I'd finished school' but last month I finally decided to start looking for work.

Only a week later, my sister came over and mom told her about my plans, she said that the restaurant where she works is looking for people, that she'd check in for me.

A week after that she confirmed that I'd got the job!

They called me in on a Saturday, I was so nervous about it that I almost didn't make it out the door, but once I got there, a lovely Italian restaurant downtown, I got shown around the place and started to like it more.

The manager then taught me my job: Polishing silverware. Basically what I have to do is recieve a load of cutlery from the dishwashers, and take a dishcloth and dip the cutlery in steaming vinegar water, rub the cutlery with the cloth, then put it into a container.

After that I deliver it to the wait staff, who add it to the plates they're bringing to tables.

It's really easy, and I've only got 3 shifts a week - Fri, Sat, Sun nights for 3 hours.

And to my eternal delight, I don't have to wear a uniform, JUST ALL BLACK. :)

Another thing I'm fond of about this restaurant is that even though there's a dress code for the wait staff, several of them have visible tattoos and piercings/dyed hair - Looking quite alternative - and everyone's totally fine with it.

So it was nice for me, as though I dress very plainly at work, and I don't have any tattoos/dyed hair/piercings, it's nice to know I can be Goth and not have to worry about 'not scaring people' or whatever.

 ---

Speaking of which, as for 'outfit posts' I haven't really done well these last few months. I still want to be Goth, it's just I don't have the energy to pick out nice outfits these days. (I have succumbed to the dreaded tracksuit like appearance :( )

And since summer is nearly upon us I think I'll have to wait before I can wear any 'finery' again. I'll try to make an outfit before Halloween, but I think this blog will be void of much outfit stuff at least for a bit longer, sorry.

Once I get work money, I'm planning on buying more band shirts and gothtastic practical clothing, so I can get away with wearing tee shirt and jeans, just that they're nice and spooky. :)
