Bat Fit Update - Jogging and Tunes

Greetings!

I was enthralled this morning to find that Amy from Stripy Tights and Dark Delights mentioned me in her Bat Fit post, so I spent the next 5 minutes squealing and jumping on couches like an idiot. :D

Then I remembered that I was going to post my new favorite form of exercise - Thanks to Bat Fit - that I enjoy more than anything else.

This fabulous exercise is: Jogging on the beach!

Since it's winter here in Australia and the sun doesn't kill Goths every time they step out of their houses, I decided to step out (Like in Bat Fit Challenge #10 - Do the thing you've been waiting for) and try jogging, as it was something I have had in mind for a long time.

I jogged for an hour at around 1:00 pm for the last two days, and though it was a cloudless day with a tempertature of about 27 C, I didn't get burned or tanned at all!!! #WIIIINNNN

Here's a run down of what happened.

Day 1: Sunny day, jogged the length of the beach and back to my starting point once (Equalling 1 'lap'), then again another 3 times. Being that this was my first time jogging ever, at the end of the jog (Although I rested at both sides) I had severe chest pain and a sort of 'metallic' taste in my mouth, and I was coughing a lot.

That, however, was fixed by eating pizza for lunch, but when I woke up the next morning I had muscular pain in my stomach, back, legs and arms.

However, I wasn't to be stopped so I decided, despite my pain I was going to jog again.

Day 2: Sunny day, even better than yesterday, got better music on my Mp3 this time round, and as soon as I started jogging the pain/stiff muscles lessened a lot. I jogged for 3 laps this time round.

However, today (The day after jog day 2) I have all the muscle ache back, and I felt severely tired, so learn from this mistake, people.

Pace yourselves, don't be like the idiot me, running (without warm up or jogging practice) 2 days in a row. I should've probably waited a day and rested instead of going out again.

But, enough of that. I had a good two days of exercise, and probably tomorrow I'll be out again jogging on the shoreline.

-I find that jogging directly where the waves are coming in is easier, as you can be barefoot and have the waves splash you as you run. The sand is also considerable softer, and makes for less impact then a concrete bike path - per say. But I live near a calm beach, so if yours has waves or such, then probably stay in very shallow waters (Like if you carry your mp3/phone with you, don't want them getting wet!)

An alternative to the beach that I might try sometime is on a football field, again with less jolts and impact, and you can go back and forth until you feel like stopping.

---Now, we insert photos as proof of my jogging escapades. :D

I look terrible in these photos, but I have to dress practical for jogging.

Dear mom, she walks on the beach while I jog, she's dressed for both rain and sun here. :D

Me fitted with mp3 and jogging tunes, just chilling on a rock.

Ignore the fact that I look like a seal. This is why I NEVER wear shorts unless I'm jogging.

Action shot and pretty beach!

I jog from one rock wall to the other, with no stops if possible.

FUN FUN FUN

According to everyone, my legs have shrunk a lot, but I still shudder when ever I see myself in the mirror/photos. :(

Anyhow. Now for a list of music that I love to jog/exercise to (This music I also use for Bat Fit dance)

1: Niki Minaj - Starships (I know, N M is awful, but that song is FABULOUS to jog to, really.)
2: David Guetta - Turn me On (Niki Minaj again, but her music is damn catchy some times.)
3: AC/DC - Shoot to Thrill (I love this song!!!!!)
4: AC/DC - Rock n' Roll Train
5: AC/DC - Back in Black
6: Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (Again with the catchy. I don't like LG that much, but still.)
7: Cruxshadows - Immortal (Everyone knows that Techno is fabulous)
8: Cruxshadows - Quicksilver
9: Sisters of Mercy - This Corrosion
10: Sisters of Mercy - Dominion
11: Batlord - Undertaker (This song is hilarious and catchy)
12: Led Zeppelin - Rock n' Roll
13: Emilie Autumn - Fight like a Girl
14: Emilie Autumn - Dead is the New Alive
15: Emilie Autumn - Opheliac
16: Greenday - Holiday
17: Remy Zero - Save Me
18: Rascal Flatts - Life is a Highway
19: Rascal Flatts - Secret Smile
20: Proclaimers - 500 miles
21: Alice Cooper - Poison
22: Alice Cooper - School's Out
23: Alice Cooper - Life and death of the Party
24: Scorpions - No one like You
25: Sisters of Mercy - More
26: VNV Nation - Space and Time
27: The Damned - Love Song
28: Bauhaus - Dark Entries
29: Ke$ha - Blow (I don't like her either, but this song is good to exercise to)
30: Incubus Succubus - Paint it Black

Well, there's a list of the music I exercise too. :D I'm aware that more than half isn't Gothic rock, per say, but who says you can't have other genres to listen to?

If you have some catchy biz that you like to exercise to, do tell me in a comment, I'm eager to find more good tunes. I NEED MOAR MUSICSSSS

Have a great day, and thanks for reading this.

Farewell!

Jogging and I have never really got along, but jogging on the beach looks fun! Too bad I live in landlocked Colorado...You're doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

I used to jog all the time. I only stopped because my knees started to hurt really bad. Apparently, I had improper form, so I'd like to start again.
Blutengel is a good band to exercise to, btw. :)

Hey there pretty girl! So I happened across your blog this fine evening and I must say that so far I really like it -- you are quite brave to brazenly document your early goth years so frankly. Be sure of my frequent lurking =)

@Alice, OddGhoulOut, Kat: Thanks for commenting! :D

Alice: You could try the football field idea. The grass is fairly soft and you can run barefoot (I hate running in shoes :) and it also has low impact like sand.

OddGhoulOut: I also had foot and knee pain when I was at the park trying to run on concrete. Sand or grass is the way to go, I guess, haha. And I like the sound of Blutengel, thanks for suggesting!

Kat: Aww, thank you dear! It's true that it's a tad embarassing sometimes to talk about Babybat stuff, but since people enjoy reading it, I'm more than happy to write. Thanks for following!!!

I actually love your jogging playlist, it's very similar to what I like to listen to when I work out :-) I wish I lived near a beach so I could jog there too <3

@Amy, Dani,

Omgosh thanks!! I might get around to doing a 'jogging playlist part 2' as soon as I get more songs. :D

I'm happy to see that my music's cool. :D

And Dani, you like Alice Cooper?!!!

YOU ARE AWESOME (Well, you were already, but yeah) :)
