Bat Fit Challenges #9 #10 #11 #12

Greetings!

I just realised today that with being sick for a lot of the past 2 months until now, I forgot all about updating my Bat Fit assignments, but since there's a new one on Monday, I've decided to cram the last 4 assignments into one summarised post. Do excuse if they're a little choppy. :)

Bat Fit Challenge #9 - Listen to your body - By Tenebris in Lux.

Today, I'm writing this challenge/personal narrative because LISTENING TO YOUR BODY WILL PAY OFF.  Wonder what's up?  Take note of the different signals that your body sends.  Locating problems should first and foremost start with learning about what your body has to say.  Evaluation of how much stress you experience, what you eat, and the amount of sleep you had last night should come later. Maybe skip the pills, and see if something can go away in a more natural way, or if it goes away faster than you expected.  But by all means, get help if you know you need it!  Your body is more than likely complaining for a reason.

This challenge is about one of the most important lessons that I have learned in my life.  If there is something wrong with your body, listen to it!  Bodies come with mechanisms and responses to the bad things that affect us -- so please, pay attention.

For this challenge I summarised a couple of situations where I did/did not listen to my body, with consequences.

1: I didn't drink enough water for several days, even though I was thirsty, and bam, wound up with kidney pains for the weekend, which fortunately went away after jug loads of water.

2: I didn't exercise for a week or get any fresh air, even though I felt I should, and bam, sick with the flu for 2 weeks.

3: I forgot to take my herbs and calcium tablets even though I was supposed to and bam, wound up with period cramps from hell and epic amounts of nausea. NEVER AGAIN. I don't have enough romantic comedies and chocolate to survive that.

4: The good thing is, that now I learned that I need to keep up constant fresh air/exercise/water and I need to take my vitamins faithfully, and as such I've felt a lot better.

So my challenge to you is this:  do that thing that you're waiting for.  We all have it, that thing that we think "when I lose this weight I will do X" or "when I'm in better shape I will do Y."  You know what?  Doing something that makes you happy will get you to the place you need to be.  If you really want to do roller derby- practice skating!  If you want to try yoga- go do it!  I do yoga all the time, and not being flexible doesn't stop me.

Live the life you've always dreamed.  Right now.  Don't wait.  You won't ever be sorry.

For this challenge I decided to make an effort in going to sleep earlier and getting up at 6 am to do the Bat Fit dance workout (WHICH IS MARVELLOUS, BTW) and since I've made that step forward, instead of saying 'I'll do it later' I've been able to manage waking up at 6 several times a week, even on weekends!

Also, I decided to jump on ahead and pick up a new form of exercise...But that'll be in the next post. :D

Bat Fit Challenge #11 by Marcy

In the weeks ahead, I invite you to join me in Bat Fit Challenge:  BUDDY UP!  I’ve often heard “experts” say that working out with a partner can keep you motivated because it holds you accountable and makes it more fun.  I know from personal experience that walking with a friend is not only more fun than walking alone, I’m also motivated to push harder and keep going.  I’d really like to find a walking buddy to take my workout outside once a week.  You might want to check into a group exercise class, walk with a group of co-workers during your lunch break, find a cycling group… whatever appeals to you.  The point is to make exercise a social occasion and see if those “experts” are right.

-

For this challenge it was a tad difficult, as I don't really have anyone to exercise with, but my mom went out walking and to the pool with me a couple of times, so I guess that counts.

Bat Fit Challenge #12 by Le Professeur Gothique

Wherever you are in this process it is time to take an assessment of what you've accomplished, which challenges were successful and which were failures, and where you want to go from here. Bat Fit Challenge #12 is to review the last six months and take measure of your progress. Be honest! After you've done this, set your goals for the next six months. Be reasonable and kind to yourself. This should not be an opportunity for you to beat on yourself; instead, congratulate yourself on what you have accomplished and be logical about your goals. Catch your breath and start again.

For this challenge I guess I'm evaluating my 6 month progress, and I'm glad to say I do have something to report.

- I've started going to bed several hours earlier and as such am waking up earlier.

-I don't sit at the computer for nearly as long now

-I swim twice a week at the local pool, doing more laps each time.

-I can fit into my pants that haven't fit me for 3 years.

-My bra cup size has gone from H to around G or F.

-I'm now nearly a size 14 in pants, versus 16 to 18 before.

-I'm actually a lot happier now then I have been before.

-I've gone from around 73 kg to 66 kg.

-I've almost completely stopped eating bread and cheese, and as such my allergies and weight levels have dropped massively.

-I'm eating so much more vegetables and fruit!

-And, I really am eager for more exercise every day, versus my old opinion of "Oh no, not exercise!"

My New Goals:

1: To get to be a size 12 in pants.

2: To cut out all junk food in my diet, except for once a month treat.

3: To wake up EVERY day at 6 am and do both Bat Fit dance and other workouts.

4: To go to an E size cup in bras.

5: To join the gym and go there as often as time will permit.

6: To learn to cook and sew and get better at art.

7: To get taller, preferably some length in the waist and legs.

8: I want to stop being sad about being by myself with no friends, I want to improve my confidence and self discipline.

9: I want to keep my room cleaner.

10: I want to eat proper breakfasts every day, not just tea and a rice cake or so.

Well, that's it! I CAUGHT UP...:)

Note: Helllooooo there dear followers, I spy two more of you dears! Thank you so much for following, and how about by August (When this blog'll be a year old) can you all get me to 60 followers? I'm quite happy with 52, but I wonder if I can make 60. It'll be interesting to see what happens. :D

Farewell!
