I had several posts up for Bat Fit, but I found out later that blogger/My computer didn't post them.....Gnngngngngng....*End angry mutterings* so I made a new post to jam them all together...more or less.
Bat Fit Challenge #4, in the words of Le Professeur Gothique:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bat Fitters, challenge #4 is to be good to yourself. Yep, sounds easy doesn't it? But this is going to be a really hard challenge for many of us. You absolutely must try to forgive yourself. You can't be super critical of yourself, your work and what you do. And you need to cut yourself some slack and be proactive in your life. You also need to celebrate yourself and the good stuff that you do everyday. And you must do something FOR YOURSELF once a day. That's right, do something for YOU that YOU like to do. Bubble baths, reading, taking a nap ... anything for yourself.
---------------------------------------------------------
For this challenge, I decided to be good to myself by watching a little of my recently found TV obsession, Smallville, on weekend nights as a reward for finishing all my studies during the week. Also, every couple of weeks I treat myself to a little chocolate or potato chips as a small treat.
And...because I was getting really stressed lately, I went for a sleepover at my best friend's house and as such I feel SO much better...It does help to go somewhere else for a day or two!

Bat Fit Challenge #5 in the words of the Professeur:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
For the next two weeks we will be having a BRAG-FEST! Yup, in the spirit of the ancient Celts we will raise our tankards in a toast to ourselves and all that we do! We will stand up and say, "I am awesome at xyz!" "I successfully accomplished xyz and I'm damned proud of myself!" Your challenge, if you chose to accept it, is to blog about, comment here about, or talk about with your loved ones those accomplishments that you are most proud; what makes you special; and what you love about yourself, etc. Everyday for two weeks you will celebrate YOURSELF. Pop the cork on the champagne and raise the glass high, for you are awesome.
-----------------------------------------------------------
For this challenge I had to try harder than usual, as I generally just put myself down and speak negatively. :(
But, this challenge did help me to think happier...I don't really have that much to say about it, but I think my family appreciated me not pushing myself into an imaginary hole.

Bat Fit Challenge #6 in the words of the Professeur:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, now is your chance! Bat Fit Challenge #6, if you chose to accept it, is to try a new vegetable or a new, HEALTHY cooking method for a current favorite vegetable (NOTE: deep frying DOES NOT count). That's right, got a hankering for curried cauliflower soup? Cook some up and show us your pictures! How about a vegetable that scares the tar out of you? Gather your courage and give it a try. Or maybe you're in a culinary rut and need some inspiration ... go visit a local Asian market and start asking some questions. You might just find a new favorite vegetable.
-----------------------
Having grown up as a vegetarian (for the most part) and having lived in Indonesia and the Philiphines for a number of years this was quite an easy challenge. :)
I assist my parents with cooking, but there is a particular vegetable I hate the guts out of...the Filipino name is 'Ampalaya'...the Western name is 'Bitter Melon.'
But due to this challenge when my parents cooked it for lunch one day, I didn't make other food as I normally did. I had it with scrambled eggs...To be honest, it still tastes vile to me, but it was good that I ate it again.
For 'a different kind of cooking for a vegetable' I made a very simple recipe that is an adaption of a Filipino technique and my mom's old recipes.

| Chickpeas, corn, onions and a few olives, an every day lunch for me. |

Bat Fit Challenge #7 in the words of the Professeur:
--------------
This Challenge, if you chose to accept it, is to do that one thing (or two or three) that scares the crap out of you. We all have fear, it's part of the human makeup. Real courage is to face that fear even though you're terrified. What is it that you are afraid to do? Are you afraid to quit your job to start your own business? Perhaps you're afraid to enroll in college? Or maybe it's a fear of spiders or snakes? Perhaps you're afraid to start something new and foreign to you? Or maybe you have a fear of trying new things
--------------------------------------------------
I have to admit I was really nervous about this challenge, as I have a number of fears, namely, clowns, Santa Claus (I saw a mall Santa nearby me once and I had to run into a nearby shop, I got so scared.), Murky water (Once I stepped into the ocean where I couldn't see the bottom, a jellyfish stung my hand!), heights, and cockroaches. (I don't like bugs in general that much, but I am scared to the MOON of roaches.
So, as roaches were my greatest fear, last night when I saw a medium sized one outside, instead of running as far as I could, I got a shoe and hit the hell out of it until it died...I was seriously scared, but I still managed to approach it and kill it, something I usually can NEVER EVER do.
Well, good luck to all of you noble Bat Fitters!
Farewell!
